DESCRIPTION
General description
Chelex®100 sodium form is a chelating resin made of a styrene and divinylbenzene copolymer. It has a pair of iminodiacetate ions that chelate polyvalent metal ions, shows greater metal ion selectivity, and has a stronger binding force.[1]
Application
Chelex®100 sodium form is commonly used:
- As an ion exchange resin, in wastewater treatment due to its high affinity for metal ions[2] [3]
- For the extraction and purification of DNA[4]
- As adsorbent in protein purification[5]
- In determination of trace elements in marine water[6]
