DESCRIPTION
General description
Chlorogenic acid is a bioactive polyphenolic compound mainly found in many plants[1], such as coffee.[2] It is a potent neuroprotectant[3] and also possesses antiviral[1], antifungal[3], antioxidant[2] and antitumor properties.[4] CGA may also be involved in regulating glucose and lipid metabolism and improving insulin sensitivity.[5]
Chlorogenic acid is a cinnamate ester used as a reducing agent and stabilizer in bimetallic nanoparticle synthesis.[6]
