| Cytiva SV30082.01 is a ready-to-use antibiotic solution supplemented with amino acids, used to prevent bacterial contamination in cell cultures. This HyClone™ Penicillin, Streptomycin, and Glutamine blend, produced by Cytiva, provides broad-spectrum protection against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria while offering essential L-glutamine support for cell growth, all in one vial. Effective against Gram-negative and gram positive microorganisms. - Penicillin interferes with the final stage of synthesis of the bacterial cell wall. - Streptomycin inhibits elongation at the transpeptidation step during protein synthesis and binds to the 30S subunit, causing misreading. - Common working concentration for penicillin is 100 U/mL; for Streptomycin: 100 μg/mL. Penicillin/Streptomycin is a broad-spectrum bacteriostatic agent with activity against Gram-negative and Gram-positive organisms. Broad Spectrum Effect: Provides high protection against both Gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms. Penicillin G Modulus: Exhibits bactericidal effect by interfering with the final stage of bacterial cell wall synthesis. Streptomycin Sulfate Modulus: Inhibits the elongation (transpeptidation) step during protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit of bacteria. L-Glutamine Support: Contains an essential amino acid that is critical for cell growth and tends to degrade rapidly in cell culture media. Formulation: Available in liquid form in a sterilized 100 mL package. Working Concentration: In common use, a working concentration of 100 U/mL for penicillin and 100 µg/mL for streptomycin is targeted in the final culture medium. |
