Anatase is one of the three naturally occurring crystalline phases of titanium dioxide, the other two being rutile and brookite. Among these three phases, anatase is the most reactive and tends to have the highest surface area, which makes it useful in applications where high reactivity and surface area are desirable. Application Phase-pure anatase is employed in the solid state synthesis of the mixed oxide NaTiO2 which has been considered as a possible antiferromagnetic material. |
