It can also be used for activation of carboxylic acids by conversion to dinitrophenyl (DNP) esters. The product may be used in ester preparation by acylation reactions and as a cocatalyst in primary amine organocatalyst systems for direct asymmetric aldol reactions. 2,4-Dinitrophenol can also be used as an alternative activator to tetrazoles in reactions of phosphoramidites with nucleosides. |
